Pan Painting -WIP

El Director wanted me to post the WIP of the pan that I'm painting.  I'm hoping to get it done tomorrow, and then would also have the ground pan done as well.

YAY!

"Kitchy" - (Because that's a word, right?)

After discussing with Devin, I made a few small changes and addtions to make Aguila's room seem more kitchy/tacky/mexican.

And Barney suggested to have El Flamingo on the other side of the shot, putting him closer to the edge of the screen and futher away from the family. I wanted to keep the cross above Aguila and the vertical lines of the beads on El Flamingo so I flipped the back wall.

Here's an idea of what they would look like if they swithed places.

"Hey MTV, I'm Aguila and welcome to my crib."

Here is the first pass of Aguila's living room. Is it tacky/frilly/mexican enough? I was having trouble making it look tacky and keeping it simple-looking at the same time.

Devin and I discussed and this is where we imagine where El Flamingo and Aguila will be sitting. The idea is to have El Flamingo in trapped in the corner and hold him in with some vertical lines around him like jail bars (wassup layout class!)

Oasis - Continued work

So here's a late-night Layout sketch.  It's still pretty rough but I'd like to try and get this little sucker cleaned (or at least cleaner) tomorrow afternoon/evening.

I was thinking of possibly having the Mayan-esque stairs/temple really falling apart, almost half buried by sand.  As if this was a real lost city now turned oasis-home to the flamingos.  Just a different take than the typical Mayan jungle that I'm throwing out there.

Layout jobs

Hey everybody, I've liked everything that has come in so far to the blog, but we should get more definite Layout jobs by getting everybody to choose which back grounds they want to design and then go into and do the close ups and such on them:

So just simply edit the post and put your name where you want it, there can be multiple concepts and designers on each, but we need at least one on each layout

Meg, Jenn - Mexican Village from a far (More or less an establishing shot Sunrise/Sunset)

Meg, Tara - His house as a child (exteriors/ interiors)

Devin, Jenn -Wrestling Arena (exteriors/ interiors)

Devin, Tara -City streets (there will need to be a few shots here/ Mostly Pan)

Meg-Desert at night (More simple and straight forward)

Everybody-Flamingo Pit (There'll need to be a few shots in here, so if everybody could work together here it would be good)

Layout Resource Post!

http://www.downtheroad.org/aaamenu.htm

This guy has done a ton of traveling across central and South America and has pictures for each state that he's traveled.

It takes a bit of digging but it's interesting to see the different vegetation/landscapes/buildings. (Look for the thumbnails link for each state) It's where I've been getting some ideas for in terms of  the landscape.  I've done a few sketches but not happy with them yet, I'll be posting some stuff within the next day or so though.

Hope this helps layout team!!
